My goals as a teacher are to make learning history fun and to bring the events of the past alive to a new generation. I believe that it is my responsibility, as an educator, to reach my students with each lesson, to discover their inner passions and find a common element that bonds the two together. Further more, it is my commitment to my students and to the school, in general, that will keep me grounded and focused on pushing my students to do their best and to live up to the standards put forth by both the school and the state.
As an educator in the 21st century I believe we should be aware of the amount of technology that our students use and to build upon that with our own abilities to reach them where they are most comfortable, online. I assert that educators need to focus on opportunities for their students to learn outside of the classroom, by creating and maintaining websites, Wiki pages and blogs. Technology can be a wonderful asset to the education process and I am a firm believer that students not only want, but crave inventive ways to learn. The modern classroom is a wonderful place to be, with the wonders of technology, history can truly come alive and I cannot wait to become a part of it.
